Adam Blumenthal is Founder and Managing Partner of Blue Wolf Capital Partners LLC, a private equity firm based in New York City that manages $1.2 billion in capital. Blue Wolf makes transformational investments in middle market companies, focusing on Health Care, Building and Forest Products, and Energy and Infrastructure Services sectors. Blue Wolf utilizes disciplined management of environmental, social, and governance factors to drive value in its portfolio.
Prior to founding Blue Wolf in 2005, Mr. Blumenthal served as First Deputy Comptroller and Chief Financial Officer for New York City, leading the capital markets activities of the Comptroller’s office. Mr. Blumenthal also built and managed American Capital Ltd. over 13 years, turning the company into a publicly-traded buyout and mezzanine fund with a portfolio of over $1 billion.
From 2011 to 2017, Mr. Blumenthal was a Trustee and Chair of the Investment Committee of the $60 billion UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust fund. He has also been a Trustee and Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Nathan Cummings Foundation and the Community Service Society of New York. Mr. Blumenthal received a B.A., magna cum laude, from Harvard College, and a M.B.A. from the Yale School of Management, where he currently serves as a member of the Advisory Board for Yale’s International Center for Finance.
