Leeann Foster has over twenty years of experience at the United Steelworkers International Union (USW) as Associate General Counsel and Assistant to the International President. Foster leads the USW Paper Sector, the largest sector of the Union, along with USW Vice President Jon Geenen and oversees the USW Women of Steel Leadership Development Program. She chairs bargaining for a number of paper councils including Domtar and Packaging Corporation of America, is on the Leadership Team for the International Paper (IP), Georgia Pacific and WestRock Councils and provides counsel to the remaining thirty (30) company councils on health care and benefits bargaining. She also leads provides safety leadership throughout the sector, as the labor lead for the IP and Domtar Labor/Management Working Safety Committees as well as driving safety strategy for the larger sector. Foster is also the Co-Chair of the IndustriALL Global Union Federation Pulp and Paper Sector Working Group.
To fund her education, Foster worked in the USW paper sector at Longview Fiber Company (now Kapstone) in Cedar Rapids, IA where her father was an officer and is now a retired 45-year member of USW Local 11-436. She resides in Pittsburgh and is the proud wife of Craig, a steelworker at US Steel in the Mon Valley at USW Local 1219, and mother of a son, Evan, 16, and daughter Maia, 15.
